Ghanaian Hip life stars Reggie Zippy and Bollie thrilled X-Factor judges and audiences after the judges had sat through what they described as appalling performances.
The duo, who appeared on the X-Factor as Menn On Poinnt, had audiences at Wembley on their feet singing along and cheering to their original track ‘Turn It Up’. The judges joined in the frenzy with Rita Ora being the biggest fan. The British singer was up on her feet and gyrating as Reggie Zippy and Bollie turned up the temperature at Wembley.
In an interview before the main performance, Reggie disclosed they had chosen the name Men On Point because they wanted to be on point in everything they did. “We did our best in Ghana…we did singles and we had the hits, but our
big dream is to crack the music scene in the UK. It’s all about world domination,” he said.
After the spine tingling performance by Reggie Zippy and Bollie, Rita Ora remarked “Menn On Poinnt, you are on point”. Nick Grimshaw said “Not only was this good but people were bouncing in here”. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said “you sound infectious and I enjoyed it”. Although known for his brutally frank and sometimes sarcastic comments, Simon Cowell who was impressed said “I love you two…you’re completely nuts…I can see that with you, it’s always going to be a sunny day.”
After these glowing tributes from the X-Judges, Simon Cowell sealed it with “Menn On Poinnt, you have 4,321 yeses!”Reggie Zippy and Bollie certainly deserve a pat on the shoulder for making all Ghanaians proud.
